The resulting substance provides a pearlescent, shimmering effect. It is predominantly found in cosmetics and personal care formulations such as eyeshadows, highlighters, and lipsticks, but it also appears in specialty food items like decorative edible glitters, baking dusts, and confectionery coatings.

This ingredient is vegan because it is produced entirely through synthetic mineral processing. Animal-derived materials, animal byproducts, and animal-derived processing aids are not utilized at any stage of its manufacture.
