So, what is talcum?
Talcum is a soft, white, powdery mineral used in a variety of food products as an anti-caking agent. It is derived from a type of rock called talc, which is composed of hydrated magnesium silicate. Talcum has a silky texture and is highly absorbent, making it ideal for use in powdered foods such as spices, baking mixes, and instant soups. While there has been some controversy over the safety of talcum powder in recent years, the food-grade version of talcum is considered safe for consumption and approved by regulatory agencies worldwide.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
