So, what is wakame?
Wakame is a type of seaweed commonly used in Japanese cuisine. It is a variety of kelp with a delicate and slightly sweet flavor that pairs well with miso soup, seaweed salad, and sushi rolls. This seaweed is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, including calcium, iron, and iodine, making it a healthy addition to any diet. Wakame is often sold in dried form and can be rehydrated by soaking in water for a few minutes before use. Its vibrant green color and distinct flavor make it a popular ingredient in many dishes around the world.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
