So, what is water chestnut?

Water chestnuts are a type of aquatic vegetable that are widely used in Asian cuisine. They are not actually nuts, but rather tubers that grow in marshes, ponds, and shallow lakes. These crunchy, white-fleshed vegetables have a slightly sweet, nutty flavor and are a popular ingredient in stir-fries, salads, and soups. In addition to their culinary uses, water chestnuts are also believed to have various health benefits, such as promoting digestion, reducing inflammation, and improving circulation. They are low in calories, fat-free, and a good source of fiber, potassium, and vitamin B6.
