So, what is wholemeal flour?
Wholemeal flour is a type of flour that is made by grinding the entire wheat kernel, including the bran, germ, and endosperm. This gives it a coarser texture and a slightly nuttier flavor compared to regular all-purpose flour. It is an excellent source of fiber and nutrients like magnesium, potassium, and zinc, making it a popular choice for health-conscious bakers. Wholemeal flour is commonly used in bread, muffins, and other baked goods to add a hearty, wholesome flavor and texture. It can also be used to thicken sauces or as a coating for fried foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
