So, what is zwarte thee?
Zwarte thee, also known as black tea, is a type of tea that is more oxidized than green, oolong, and white teas. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and is typically grown in hot, humid climates such as China, India, and Sri Lanka. The leaves are plucked, withered, rolled, and then oxidized before being fired, giving them a robust and full-bodied flavor. Black tea is often enjoyed with milk and sugar, and is believed to have numerous health benefits including improved heart health, lower cholesterol, and increased mental alertness. Its rich flavor and history make it a beloved ingredient in many cuisines around the world.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
