So, what is cassavas?
Cassavas, also known as yuca or manioc, are starchy tubers widely cultivated in tropical regions of the world. These root vegetables have a tough, brownish skin and a white, fibrous flesh that is rich in carbohydrates and low in fat. Cassavas are highly versatile and can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as boiling, frying, or baking. They are a popular ingredient in many cuisines, especially in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. In addition to being a great source of energy, cassavas are also packed with essential nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, and dietary fiber, making them a healthy addition to any diet.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
