So, what is aluminum tripalmitate/triisostearate?
Aluminum tripalmitate/triisostearate is a food-grade compound that is commonly used as an emulsifier and stabilizer in various food products. It is a white, odorless powder that is soluble in oils and insoluble in water. This ingredient is made by combining aluminum hydroxide with a mixture of palmitic and isostearic acids. It is used in many processed foods, such as dairy products, bakery items, and confectioneries, to improve texture, increase shelf life, and prevent separation. Aluminum tripalmitate/triisostearate is also used in cosmetics and personal care products as a thickening agent and emollient.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
