So, what is black carrot?
Black carrot is a lesser-known variety of carrot with a deep, almost blackish-purple color. Unlike regular orange carrots, black carrots are primarily grown for their health benefits rather than their flavor. These carrots are rich in anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that give them their distinctive color and may help lower the risk of heart disease, cancer, and other chronic conditions. Black carrots can be eaten raw or cooked, and are often used in traditional medicine for their anti-inflammatory and digestive properties. Their unique appearance also makes them a popular ingredient in gourmet dishes and colorful cocktails.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
