So, what is dextrose of?
Dextrose is a simple sugar derived from corn starch that is chemically identical to glucose. It is commonly used as a sweetener and a source of energy in a variety of food products. Dextrose has a high glycemic index, which means it is quickly absorbed by the body and can provide a rapid source of energy. It is also commonly used in the production of baked goods and as a component in sports drinks and energy bars. Dextrose is considered safe for consumption by the FDA and is widely used in the food industry.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
