So, what is diglyceride?
Diglycerides are a type of emulsifier commonly used in food production. They are derived from fats and are composed of two fatty acid chains attached to a glycerol molecule. Diglycerides are particularly useful in baking as they can help stabilize dough and improve its texture. They are also used in a variety of other foods such as margarine, ice cream, and processed meats to help prevent separation and maintain a consistent texture. Diglycerides are generally considered safe for consumption and are approved for use by regulatory agencies around the world.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
