So, what is vellum?
Vellum is a type of parchment made from animal skin that has been carefully treated to produce a smooth and durable writing surface. It has a translucent quality that makes it ideal for creating unique and beautiful documents such as diplomas, certificates, and manuscripts. Vellum is typically made from the skins of calves, although it can also be made from the skins of goats and sheep. It is often used by calligraphers and artists to create intricate designs and illustrations, and is prized for its ability to hold ink without smudging or bleeding. In the culinary world, vellum is occasionally used as a decorative element for desserts or as a wrapper for cheese or butter.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
