So, what is dipotassium a phosphate?
Dipotassium phosphate (DKP) is a food-grade ingredient commonly used as a buffering agent, emulsifier, and stabilizer in food production. This white, odorless powder is a potassium salt of phosphoric acid and is soluble in water. DKP can be found in numerous food products such as cheese, baked goods, and beverages to enhance texture, improve taste, and prevent spoilage. Additionally, DKP is often used in the production of non-dairy creamers and powdered drink mixes due to its ability to prevent clumping and enhance solubility. Despite its multifunctional use in the food industry, DKP is considered safe for consumption by regulatory authorities when used within specified limits.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
