So, what is edible common salt?

Edible common salt, also known as table salt, is a mineral that is essential for human survival. It is harvested from salt mines or evaporated from sea water and is made up of two chemical elements, sodium and chloride. Salt is used in cooking to enhance the flavor of food, as a preservative to extend the shelf life of certain foods, and as a seasoning for various dishes. It is also used in baking and in the production of certain types of cheese and other dairy products. While too much salt can have negative health effects, such as high blood pressure, consuming the appropriate amount of salt is necessary for maintaining proper bodily function.
