So, what is gérmen de trigo?
Gérmen de trigo, also known as wheat germ, is the embryo of the wheat kernel that is removed during the refining process of wheat flour. This tiny powerhouse is packed with nutrients, including protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is a great source of vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties that may help protect against cellular damage. Gérmen de trigo is also a good source of folic acid, a B vitamin important for healthy brain development and for reducing the risk of birth defects. This ingredient can be easily incorporated into a variety of dishes, including smoothies, oatmeal, and baked goods, to add a nutritional boost.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
