So, what is grains de vanille épuisée?
Grains de vanille épuisée, or exhausted vanilla beans, are the remnants of the vanilla pod after it has been used to infuse flavor in a recipe. Despite being spent, these tiny black seeds still pack a potent vanilla aroma and flavor, making them a valuable addition to many desserts and baked goods. They can be used to flavor custards, puddings, ice creams, and even cocktails. The exhausted beans are often sold in small jars or pouches, making it easy to add a touch of decadent vanilla to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
