So, what is lupin?
Lupin is a legume that belongs to the same family as peanuts and soybeans. This protein-rich ingredient has a slightly sweet and nutty flavor, making it a popular alternative to wheat and soy in gluten-free and vegan diets. Lupin is also low in fat and high in fiber, making it a great addition to baked goods, snacks, and protein bars. In addition to its nutritional benefits, lupin is also considered environmentally sustainable due to its ability to fix nitrogen in soil and reduce the need for fertilizers.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
