So, what is huilé de palmiste?
Huile de palmiste, also known as palm kernel oil, is a natural plant-based ingredient extracted from the seeds of the African oil palm tree. With its light yellow color and nutty flavor, it has become a popular ingredient in many food products and recipes. It is high in saturated fatty acids and lauric acid, making it a good substitute for butter or hydrogenated oils in baked goods. Moreover, its versatility allows it to be used in a variety of cuisines, including African, Asian, and Caribbean cooking. Its smooth texture and ability to withstand high heat make it perfect for frying and sautéing. Additionally, it is commonly found in personal care products due to its moisturizing properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
