So, what is marsala wine?
Marsala wine is a fortified wine originating from the Italian island of Sicily. It's made by adding distilled alcohol to a base wine and then aged for at least one year in oak barrels. The result is a complex flavor profile with notes of caramel, figs, and nuts. Marsala wine comes in three varieties: sweet, semi-sweet, and dry, each with their unique taste and aroma. It's commonly used in cooking, particularly in savory dishes such as chicken or veal Marsala, and also as a dessert wine, often paired with chocolate or cheese.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
