So, what is nitrate de potassium?

Potassium nitrate, commonly known as nitrate de potassium, is a white crystalline salt that is commonly used as a food preservative and fertilizer. It is a source of nitrogen and potassium, two essential nutrients for plant growth. In food, it is used to preserve meat, poultry, and fish, as well as to add a salty flavor to certain processed foods. Potassium nitrate is also used in the production of gunpowder, fireworks, and rocket fuel. Despite its widespread use, excessive consumption of potassium nitrate can be harmful to human health and is regulated by food safety authorities.
