So, what is sciroppo d'agave?
Sciroppo d'agave, or agave syrup, is a natural sweetener derived from the agave plant. The syrup is produced by extracting sap from the core of the plant, which is then heated and filtered to create a viscous, amber-colored liquid. Agave syrup has a low glycemic index and is a popular alternative to refined sugar, often used in baking, cooking, and as a topping for pancakes, waffles, and yogurt. Its mild, delicate flavor is similar to that of honey, but with a subtle caramel undertone. Additionally, agave syrup is vegan and gluten-free, making it a versatile ingredient for a range of dietary needs.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
