So, what is васабі?
Wasabi is a pungent and spicy condiment commonly used in Japanese cuisine. Its green paste-like consistency is made by grinding the stem of the wasabi plant, which is native to Japan. The distinct flavor of wasabi comes from its high concentration of allyl isothiocyanate, giving it a sharp and sinus-clearing taste similar to horseradish. Wasabi is often served as a garnish with sushi or sashimi, and can also be mixed into soy sauce for dipping. Due to its complex and unique flavor profile, wasabi has become increasingly popular outside of Japan in recent years.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
