So, what is zestes d'orange?
Zestes d'orange, also known as orange zest, refers to the outer layer of an orange's peel that contains the fruit's fragrant oils. These thin strips of orange peel are commonly used as a flavoring agent in a variety of dishes, from baked goods to savory dishes like marinades and sauces. Orange zest adds a bright, citrusy flavor and aroma to food, and can be used fresh or dried. It's also a great source of antioxidants and vitamin C. When using zestes d'orange in your cooking, be sure to only use the colored part of the peel and avoid the bitter white pith.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
