So, what is ácido lactico?
Ácido láctico, or lactic acid, is a naturally occurring organic acid that is commonly used as a food ingredient. It is a colorless, syrupy liquid with a slightly sour taste and is produced during the fermentation process of lactose or other sugars by lactic acid bacteria. It is widely used in the food industry as a preservative, flavoring agent, pH regulator, and as a starter culture in the production of fermented foods such as cheese, yogurt, and sourdough bread. Additionally, it has also been used as a cosmetic ingredient due to its ability to exfoliate and moisturize the skin.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
