So, what is bicarbonato de potássio?
Bicarbonato de potássio, also known as potassium bicarbonate, is a white crystalline compound with a slightly salty and alkaline taste. It is commonly used in the food industry as a leavening agent in baked goods, such as cakes, bread, and pastries. Bicarbonato de potássio helps to create a light and fluffy texture by releasing carbon dioxide gas when heated. This ingredient is also used in winemaking to reduce acidity and improve the taste of wines. Moreover, bicarbonato de potássio has medicinal properties and is sometimes taken as a dietary supplement to regulate blood pressure and improve kidney function.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
