So, what is carbonblack?
Carbon black is a fine black powder produced by the incomplete combustion of petroleum products or natural gas. It is primarily used as a pigment and reinforcing agent in rubber products, such as tires, but also finds use in plastics, inks, coatings, and even food. In the food industry, carbon black is used as a black food coloring agent, giving foods like licorice, dark chocolate, and black jelly beans their distinctive color. However, its use in food is controversial due to concerns about its safety and potential health risks.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
