So, what is graine de fénugrec?
Fenugreek seeds, or "graine de fénugrec" in French, are a small, golden-brown spice with a distinctively sweet, nutty aroma. They are commonly used in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, where they add depth and complexity to curries, stews, and roasted meats. Fenugreek seeds are also prized for their medicinal properties, which include helping to regulate blood sugar levels and increase milk production in nursing mothers. When toasted or ground, these seeds take on a slightly bitter flavor that pairs well with other bold spices like cumin and coriander.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
