So, what is kosher salt?
Kosher salt is a coarse-grained salt that is commonly used in cooking, particularly in Jewish cuisine. It is called "kosher" because it was originally used in the koshering process, which involves removing blood from meat according to Jewish dietary laws. Unlike table salt, which is fine and highly processed, kosher salt is made by compacting larger salt crystals, resulting in a texture that is easy to sprinkle and dissolve. Its mild, clean taste and ability to enhance the flavor of other ingredients make it a favorite among chefs and home cooks alike.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
