So, what is lesser celandine?
Lesser celandine (Ranunculus ficaria) is a herbaceous plant that is commonly found in woodlands, meadows, and other damp environments throughout Europe and Asia. It belongs to the buttercup family and has bright yellow flowers that bloom in early spring. The entire plant is edible, with leaves that have a slight lemony taste and are high in vitamin C. Lesser celandine has been used in traditional medicine for its diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties, and recent studies suggest it may also have potential as an antioxidant and anti-cancer agent. However, it should be noted that some parts of the plant can be toxic in large quantities, and it is recommended to consult a healthcare provider before consuming it.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
