So, what is potassium ferrocyanide?
Potassium ferrocyanide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula K4Fe(CN)6. It is also known as yellow prussiate of potash, and is a bright yellow crystalline powder that is soluble in water. Potassium ferrocyanide is widely used as a food additive, primarily as an anti-caking agent in table salt and as a color fixative in the production of canned fruits and vegetables. It is also used in the production of pigments, dyes, and pharmaceuticals. While potassium ferrocyanide is generally recognized as safe by regulatory agencies, excessive consumption can be toxic and potentially harmful to health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
