So, what is weinblätter?
Weinblätter, also known as grape leaves, are a versatile ingredient that are commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. These tender, edible leaves are plucked from grapevines and typically used to wrap around savory fillings like rice, vegetables, or meat. Their slightly tart flavor and tender texture make them perfect for dishes like dolma or sarma. When preserved in brine or vinegar, they can add a tangy bite to salads or sandwiches. In addition to their culinary uses, grape leaves are also believed to have several health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
