So, what is y acido lactico?
"Y ácido láctico" is a Spanish phrase that translates to "and lactic acid" in English. Lactic acid is a naturally occurring organic acid that is produced in the body during intense exercise and is also found in many foods, including fermented vegetables, dairy products, and pickles. It is commonly used in food manufacturing as a preservative, flavor enhancer, and pH regulator. Additionally, it is used in the production of many household products such as detergents, soaps, and shampoos. Lactic acid is safe for consumption in moderate amounts and is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the FDA.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
