So, what is glycérol et sorbitols?
Glycérol et sorbitols are two common food additives that are widely used as sweeteners, thickeners, and humectants. Glycérol, also known as glycerin, is a colorless, odorless, and viscous liquid that has a sweet taste. Sorbitols, on the other hand, are sugar alcohols that are derived from glucose. They have a sweet taste and are often used as a sugar substitute in sugar-free products. Both glycérol and sorbitols are commonly used in the production of baked goods, candies, and chewing gum, as well as in pharmaceuticals and personal care products. As food ingredients, they help improve texture, shelf life, and mouthfeel, while also reducing the calorie content of foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
